Sandton Hearing & Balance was established at Mediclinic Sandton in October 2008, with a full range of diagnostic test equipment. Our audiologists believe in establishing warm and lasting relationships with our patients. We prefer spending plenty of time on each consultation, which allows for a thorough case history, comprehensive diagnostic hearing testing and further in-depth testing can be performed if necessary.
As the original audiologist at Sandton Hearing & Balance, Tanya opened their doors in October 2008. Tanya obtained her undergraduate qualification from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2006 and Masters degree in Communication Pathology from the University of Pretoria in 2014.
She is passionate about diagnostic audiology, hearing instruments and vestibular testing and obtained an additional post-graduate qualification in vestibular testing in 2009. She has lectured and tutored at the University of the Witwatersrand in the past and is also the current president of the South African Association of Audiologists (SAAA ).
When she is not busy with work, she spends time with her husband Marc and their little son, Alex.
Margot joined the team in 2012, following her community service year after qualifying from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2010.
She completed her Masters degree in Audiology from the same university in 2015, with a specific focus on vestibular testing. She also earned an additional post-graduate qualification in vestibular testing in 2012 and provides practical training to 4th-year students at the University of the Witwatersrand in this field.
Margot is also very passionate about advanced diagnostic testing and recently tied the knot with her husband Mike at a ceremony in Johannesburg.
The newest audiologist to join our team is Lindsay, who completed her community service year in 2015 after obtaining her bachelor in Communication Pathology in Audiology (with distinction) and joined the practice in early 2016.
Lindsay has a special interest in diagnostic audiology, pediatric testing and vestibular testing. She completed an additional postgraduate qualification in vestibular testing in 2016. Although she grew up in Johannesburg,
Lindsay spent her high school years at boarding school in KwaZulu-Natal and we’re glad she found her way back to the city of gold to be part of our team.
Florence joined our practice in 2016 as reception and accounts manager. She handles all appointments, hearing instrument processing and orders and our accounts. She came in with a wealth of experience in medical reception work having worked at orthopaedic surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and wound clinic amongst others. Originally from Kenya, Florence previously worked at Unilever Kenya and Madison Insurance. She has been living in Johannesburg since 2006 with her son, who is currently studying electrical engineering.
